Bardia Jungle Safari package is not a destination for one or two days, you need to allocate at least 3 to 4 days. Bardia is located in the southwestern part of Nepal which is approx 450 KM far from Kathmandu. And compared to Chitwan National Park, Bardia National Park is less crowded in terms of tourist volume.

About Bardia National Park
Bardia National Park was established in 1976 with an area of 968 Square KM. Bardia National Park was previously known as Karnali Wildlife Reserve which was previously renamed as Bardia Wildlife Reserve and later converted into Bardia National Park in 1988. The area of Bardia National Park is covered with 70 % forest area.
Bardia National Park is the home of 53 mammals including Royal Bengal Tiger, One Horn Rhino, Swamp Deer, Wild Elephant, and more. Besides Mammals, Bardia is also the home of 407 birds.
Itinerary of Bardia Jungle Safari Tour
Day 1: Fly from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj + Drive to Resort + Village Tour
Drive towards Kathmandu Domestic Airport from your hotel and take a 40 minutes flight to reach Nepalgunj. Kathmandu to Nepalgunj is one of the scenic flights where you can enjoy the magnificent view of 8000+ snow-capped mountains from your seat.
Once you reach Nepalgunj airport, our resort representative will be there to receive you and drive you towards the Bardia National Park. You need to drive an extra 75 KM from Nepalgunj to Bardia which takes approx 3 hours.
Reaching the resort, you will be welcomed by welcome drinks in the reception. Once the formal paperwork is done, you will be allocated the deluxe luxury room with modern amenities.
We will go for the Tharu Village Tour, to explore the lifestyle, culture, and tradition of the indigenous local Tharu tribe of Nepal. Along with the village tour, you will also visit Elephant Breeding Center to see baby elephants enjoying themselves with their parents, and from the same platform, we will also enjoy the sunset view and return back to the Resort.
Dinner in the Resort and enjoy the night in your own style and in this way, your Bardia Jungle Safari Tour starts formally.
Day 2: Jungle Walk + Tiger Sighting + Bird Watching + Tharu Culture Program
Today is our second and major day of our Bardia Jungle Safari Tour which starts with breakfast in the resort. Once the breakfast is over, we will prepare for our whole day’s jungle walk.
Now get ready for a Tiger tracking jungle trek with essential gears where we will explore the habitat of the royal Bengal tiger to see them in the wild. We will make our stop in the different potential sports marked by our experienced naturalists in search of tigers.
We won’t walk for a whole day inside the jungle but wait for the tiger to see in some location. During this Tiger tracking jungle walk, we will have our packed lunch inside the jungle which we call a Jungle picnic. Tigers normally used to visit water holes for drinking water during summertime so waiting from the safe location inside the jungle is another awesome experience you can have in Bardia National Park.
Alongside tiger sightings, we will also enjoy bird watching inside the national park. Return back to the resort and enjoy the Tharu Culture Dance in the resort where you also can include yourself and enjoy the dance.
Once the dance is over, we will review today’s jungle walk with a tour guide. We will plan for the next day’s jungle safari with a guide and have dinner. Overnight in the Resort.
Day 3: Jeep Safari + Jungle Walk
Another beautiful day in Bardia National Park for another jungle safari. We will have a lovely breakfast in the resort and prepare for today’s whole day Jeep Safari inside Bardia National Park with our experienced nature guide.
Jeep Safari inside Bardia National Park is the best way to go inside the park and explore more places for wildlife sightings. We also stop in some places in the jungle and walk for some time in search of a tiger with our guide. We also climb the Machan inside the Bardia National Park which is a wooden tower from where we can see in long range.
We will have our packed lunch in the Machan inside the park and wait for the tigers and other wild animals. We will explore the vegetation, flora, and Fauna of Bardia National Park during today’s tour by jeep.
Return back to the resort and enjoy the dinner along with reviewing today’s jeep drive. Overnight in the resort.
Day 4: Departure Day
Today is the last day of our Bardia Jungle Safari Tour so we will have our breakfast and go to Elephant Safari in the Park. 1-hour elephant safari is the best way to see wild animals inside the park. Once the safari is over, we will check out from the resort. And drive towards Nepalgunj airport and fly back to Kathmandu. Another 40 minutes fly from Nepalgunj to Kathmandu so in this way Bardia Jungle Safari package ends here.

Bardia National Park is located in the southwestern national park of Nepal. Kathmandu to Bardia is approx 450 KM in the distance which can be traveled by flight, car rental, and public buses.
Public Buses: There are numerous local buses leaving from Kathmandu to Bardia from Gongabu Bus Park, Kathmandu. The Bus leaves from Kathmandu at 06:00 PM and reaches Bardia around 08:00 AM so that you can sleep on the bus for the night and enjoy the day tour in Bardia National Park. Kathmandu to Bardia bus fare cost Rs 1400 – 1550 per person one way.
