Day 01: Arrival Paro in Thimphu                                                                  

After arriving at Paro Airport, your visa formalities will be completed, you will be welcomed by our tour representative outside the airport who will be your tour guide during your entire trip in Bhutan. You will be mesmerized by the beauty of Paro Airport during your arrival.

You will be transferred to the hotel in Thimphu. Welcome drinks upon arrival and you will get some free time to take a rest in the room. You will have lunch in the hotel and explore the few places today.

5 Nights 6 Days Bhutan Tour

The Tashichho Dzong is a Buddhist monastery cum fortress at the northern edge of Thimphu the capital city of Bhutan.  The original Thimphu Dzong (the Dho-Ngyen Dzong) is said to have been constructed in 1216 by Lama Gyalwa Lhanangpa. The National Memorial was built by Bhutan’s third king, H.M. Jigme Dorji Wangchuck who is also known as the “father of modern Bhutan.” The National Memorial Chorten was gifted to the nation on 28 July 1974.

Day 02: Thimphu to Punakha                                                               

After early morning breakfast at the hotel, you will drive towards Punakha via Dochula Pass. On the way, we will stop at Dochula (3,100 m), for the stunning views of Himalayan ranges with a sip of tea.

The Chimi Lhakang also known as the Chimel Lhakang is a Buddhist monastery located in the Punakha District of Bhutan. The monastery is situated on a small hill close to the beautiful village of Lobesa, which was constructed in 1499 by Ngawang Choegyel, the 14th Drukpaheirarch.

Day 03: Punakha                                                                                       

After breakfast, today we will start our day by hiking to Khamsum Yuley Namgyel Chorten, which is approximately 7 KM north of Punakha. It is one of the beautiful hill stations and on the way you can enjoy a mesmerizing view of nature with fresh air, natural spring, woods, rice paddies.

The Punakha Dzong or the Pungtang Dechen Phortang Dzong is located at the confluence of the Mo Chhu and the Po Chhu River, combine to form the Puna Tsang Chu which in turn is a tributary of the mighty Brahmaputra River. The Dzong was constructed by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal Wangchuck in 1638.

In the evening, we will explore the local market of Punakha and back to the hotel for overnight.

Day 04: Thimphu to Paro                                                                          

After early morning breakfast, our journey will be started for the Paro. But on the way, we will have a short drive to Buddha point (Kuensel Phodrang), from where you can see a good overview of Thimpu valley and capture it on your photograph for the lifetime memory.

You can pay your obeisance and offer prayers to the Buddha, the largest statue in the country and then walk around and take a glimpse of the valley.

The Paro Dzong is one of Bhutan’s best-known and most iconic Dzong. The Rinpung Dzong’s names translate to the “Fortress on a heap of Jewels “. The fortress was constructed in 1644 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal on the foundations of an ancient monastery.

The National Museum of Bhutan is housed inside the six storied circular Ta Dzong. The Ta Dzong is a medieval watchtower situated above the Rimpung Dzong. The Ta Dzong was constructed in 1656.

In the evening, we will explore the local market of Paro and overnight in a hotel at Paro.

Day 05: Paro (Day Excursion)                                                                

After early morning breakfast, today’s journey will start with the hike up to Taktsang Monastery, also known as ‘Tiger’s Nest’. Which is one the best attraction of Paro. Hanging precariously and magically from a rather steep cliff, the Taktshang monastery is a monument of genuine pride for the Bhutanese nation. It defies architectural principles to the core and amazes tourists from around the world. It is a sight to behold.

After the hike, we will visit; The Jowo Temple of Kyichu, which is one of the oldest temples in Bhutan. The temple was built by the Tibetan King Songtsen Gampo in the 7th Century AD.

The National Handicrafts Emporium is a state-run Handicrafts showroom in 4 different cities of Bhutan. The emporium is run by the National Woman’s Association of Bhutan as a Non-Government Organization that is run under the royal supervision of Her Royal Highness Azhi Sonam Choden Wangchuk.
